Hamlet

In my opinion, I enjoyed the second film the most out of the three. I feel that Ken Branagh had made his movie based more on what was written in the play than anyone else. While reading the play, a reader must create his or own personal picture of what they think the scene would be like. His 19th century film matched my personal image the most. Some similarities between my favorite version and the actually play would be the sight of his father’s ghost, the wedding between his mother and uncle, and Hamlet’s mourning of his father’s death. I also feel that the mood of the movie matched the mood of the script. I felt they matched up well and that Ken Branagh followed the script closely. I do not remember any differences between the two. In my opinion, I would say Hamlet’s father was portrayed the most realistically. In the movie it was eerie, dark, and cold when Hamlet’s father’s ghost appears. The ghost is a dark figure in armor which adds to the suspense of his character. The ghost in the movie
matched my interpretation of what the ghost looked like.
